The author of this thesis has elaborated the business plan to establish a vegetarian restaurant for himself in the heart of Helsinki, Finland. This business plan aspires to contribute towards the current 17 sustainable goals defined by United Nations while it meets its main objective to cater vegetarian healthy food for its customers. The main aim is not only to increase the variety of dishes for vegetarian, vegan or people with other dietary restrictions but also attract the other masses to adapt the vegetarian lifestyle.
As part of this thesis, detailed research was conducted to discover the challenges and changing trends towards the demand for vegetarian food products and the inclination of different sections of society towards the same. Quantitative and Qualitative based study was conducted which helped in understanding what are the view s and thoughts of people coming from different backgrounds and located in different parts of the country. The author also leveraged his personal travels to have individual real time discussions with individuals to hear views from them.
It was quite clear with the overall results that more and more masses are converting to vegetarian lifestyles. The myths are falling apart that plant-based food cannot provide all nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Owing to the proven health benefits and impact on nature for betterment this trend is bound to grow. Being a Vegetarian is no longer just a fashion trend but need of the human race. Other bigger challenges that surfaced up were less job opportunities and limitation to resources owing to extreme weather conditions.
The author believes that there is no deficiency of plant-based resources; if combined with the culinary skills and expertise lots of delicious and healthy innovations can be done. As a responsible and conscious entrepreneur, he is adamant to give employment and provide training, go plastic free, leverage all food waste for recycling, establish tie-ups with NGOs and Orphanages ensuring zero hunger in his approach. As an overall result ‘Peacock’ evolved; A Vegetarian Restaurant which aims to turn masses towards a vegetarian lifestyle contributing towards global sustainability goals.
The theoretical foundation of this theory depended on various business books, distributions, and electronic distributions. The proposal likewise gives a picture of its expected clients and potential contenders. Being key elements to any business plan finance, marketing, sales, and law are also studied and elaborated in the thesis. This report covers all key topics to open a business. The results of this research will assist the writer for establishing his ‘Peacock’ A retreat to Vegetarian food lovers and the pursuers will profit by this theory work to set up their own Indian eateries.
