This study focuses on finding out the key issues, which can make an onboarding process a success or a failure when it is conducted in a remote environment. The study introduces the reader to the matters of conducting onboarding, remote onboarding, and remote work.
The theoretical chapter introduces the reader to the basics of onboarding process, remote work, company culture and the challenges a new employee might face in a new company or an organization. The data for the theoretical framework was collected from internet articles, blog posts, scientific articles, and academic literature.
The empirical part studies the data from the interviews that was collected from five professionals with experience on the topic of remote onboarding.
The study results suggest that there are many points of improvement that employers should take into the account. Suggestions for further research are also given based on the findings.
