Tiivistelmä
The objective of this thesis was to introduce different game engines and implement a simple game prototype in Unity3D cross platform game engine. The features and the supported platform of the most popular game engines were introduced in this thesis. Based on the comparison between different supported platforms and features, Unity3D was chosen for the further implementation and discussion of the game prototype.
To complete this thesis, the knowledge of the C# programming language and the general knowledge of the Unity3D game engine were required. The basic components and features of Unity3D were introduced in this thesis.
The main focus of this thesis was cross-platform game development with suitable game engine. The Unity3D game engine was used to describe the implementation of the game prototype. The character stripes were used from the Unity3D assets stores, which made easier to complete the prototype. After completing the prototype, the process of deployment to most popular platform was explained with required SDK for specific platform.
As a result of this thesis, the small functional game prototype was built in the Unity3D version 5. The thesis includes the knowledge and experience ofthe author in game development.
