Tiivistelmä
Software and application development are challenging tasks with the increasing number of platforms and developing environments in various operating systems. For the competitive development and diverse accessibility developers are migrating towards cross-platform development tools. The increasing trends of platform, high demand of multi-platform application, low development costs and competitive market strategy leads developers to adopt cross-platform development environment.
The purpose of this thesis was to compare the functionality of different cross platform tools for application development, find out the best framework through comparative study and explain the application development process on those tools. The compared frameworks were PhoneGap, Titanium, Qt and Unity3D. An example application was developed on Qt framework and the built application was deployed over multiple platforms to test the functionality and usability of that framework.
