The main objective of this thesis work is to produce a plan on how to select and utilize public cloud products and services in the production and delivery of a web application.
A web application is an application software, which can be accessed with a variety of devices through a network connection. The application and the related components are stored on a remote server instead of the device of the user.
The basic cloud service models are Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. These are also referred to as a cloud stack since the next service model adds something to the previous ones.
Microsoft Azure is a cloud service provider that offers Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service. It contains more than two hundred products and services. These products should be carefully selected based on the needs of the user, the technical requirements of the application, data security, and regional data legislation.
