Aisti- ja tunnetyöskentelyn apuvälineet Varamummolaan

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella, toteuttaa ja arvioida Varamummolan käyttöön perhetyössä, tukihenkilötyössä ja tukijaksoilla käytettävä käsityönä virkattu apuvälinekokonaisuus ohjeineen aisti- ja tunnetyöhön. Varamummola Oy tarjoaa muun muassa lyhytaikaisia tukijaksoja lapsille. Varamummolassa käy neurokirjon lapsia säännöllisesti. Opinnäytetyön tavoite oli helpottaa vuorovaikutustilanteita asiakasta tukevan apuvälineen avulla tunteiden ilmaisemisessa asiakastyössä. Valmistetuilla apuvälineillä tavoiteltiin mahdollisimman monipuolista hyötyä ja iloa sekä asiakkaille että niitä asiakastyössä käyttäville työntekijöille.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kehittämismuotoisena, toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, joka mahdollisti erityistyövälineen kehittämisen ja valmistamisen ainutlaatuisen palvelukonseptin käyttöön. Kehittämisen tavoitteena toiminnallisessa opinnäytetyössä oli luoda ammattimainen lopputuote, josta hyötyvät asiakas, työntekijä sekä toimintaympäristö. Apuvälineen avulla voidaan tehostaa asiakkaiden kanssa kommunikointia ja vuorovaikutuksellisuuden toteutumista, sekä tukea asiakasta arkielämän taitojen ylläpitämisessä ja kehittämisessä. Tuote kehitettiin tukemaan erilaisia kohtaamis- ja vuorovaikutustilanteita. Kohderyhmänä olivat erityislapset ja muut asiakkaat, jotka tarvitsevat apuvälineitä puheen ja kommunikoinnin tueksi, tunteiden sanoittamiseksi tai eri aistisäätelyn pulmiin.

Kehittämistyön tietoperustan tarkoituksena oli lisätä tietoisuutta ja ymmärrystä erilaisista neuropsykiatrisista häiriöistä ja niiden vaikutuksesta tunteiden ja aistitiedon käsittelyssä, sekä antaa tukea tuotteen suunnitteluun ja ominaisuuksien kehittämiseen. Opinnäytetyö toimii osoituksena opiskelijoiden ammatillisesta osaamisesta ja sen kehittämisestä, sekä yksityisen sosiaalialan palveluntuottajan työn luonteen ymmärtämisestä. Tämä opinnäytetyö oli jatkokehitystehtävä työharjoittelun aikana toteutetulle projektille. Valmis tuote luovutettiin Varamummolan käyttöön tammikuussa 2023. Arviointi toteutettiin työntekijöille suunnatun kyselylomakkeen avulla, itsearviointina sekä vertaisarvioinnin avulla. Suunniteltuja apuvälineitä voidaan jatkokehittää ja räätälöidä myös muuhun käyttöön.

The meaning of this Bachelor’s thesis was to design, carry out and evaluate a crocheted material aid ensemble with instructions to use in Varamummola for sense and emotional labor that is executed when working with families, mentoring and supported holidays. Varamummola Ltd provides, among other services, short supported holidays for children. Children who visit Varamummola are often children with neurodiversity. The goal of the thesis was to ease interaction when working with clients with a tool that helps the client to show feelings. We were going after the most versatile benefit and joy to both, the clients and to the workers, that use them working with the clients with these crafted tools.

The thesis was executed as a developmental, functional work that enabled a process to develop and produce a special tool for a unique service consept. The goal of this thesis based on functionality was to create a final product that benefits clients, workers and the working environment. With the help of the tool it is possible to enhance the communication and interaction with the clients and to support and develop their every day life skills. The product was created to support different encounters and situations of interaction. The target group were children with special needs and other clients who need tools to support speech and communication to express their feelings or have different kinds of problems with sensory integration.

The purpose of the theoretical background of this thesis was to enhance the awareness and understanding of different neuropsychiatric disorders and to support the design process of the product and to develop its features. The thesis works as a proof of the professional competence of the students and their ability to develop their vocational skills. It also shows the students’ awareness to understand the nature of private service producers work. This thesis was based on a project that was accomplished during a practical training period. The finished product was handed over to Varamummola in January 2023. The evaluation was conducted via enquiry that focused on employees, self-evaluation and benchmarking. The designed tools can be developed further and tailored for other purposes.
