Tiivistelmä
Purpose – The purpose of this thesis is to examine the accessibility of the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark web pages and what kind of accessibility information has been provided by the Salpausselkä Geopark and what kind of disabilities are restricting the use.
Approach - This thesis uses different aspects of accessibility in the web environment, in nature and on-site in the Salpausselkä Geopark area. People with different abilities need to have accessible services online and in the nature. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, several laws and acts were used to give a solid background for this thesis. For practical work was used web analysis tools and proven accessibility mapping forms.
Findings - Accessibility serves everybody, but it is also a necessity for many. Several laws and practices bind the public organisation to be accessible, but these practices can benefit all organisations. Good accessibility information given beforehand makes accessible tourism possible. Therefore, the web pages and the content should be made that way, that they are accessible to all with or without disability.
