Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli tutkia satamaoperaattorin kontitus- ja terminaaliprosesseja ja niissä havaittuja ongelmakohtia liittyen toiminnanohjausjärjestelmään. Kartoituksen pohjalta luotiin kehitysideoita satamaoperaattorin prosessien kehittämiseen ja prosessien läpimenoajan parantamiseen.
Tutkimuksen teoriaosuudessa käsiteltiin satamantoimintoja, toiminnanohjausjärjestelmän määritelmää, avattiin prosessin määritelmää ja pohdittiin mitä on prosessijohtaminen. Lisäksi teoriaosuudessa avattiin Lean ja Six Sigma kehitysmalleja, koska työn tutkimusosiossa hyödynnettiin Six Sigman DMAIC-työkalua. DMAIC-työkalun teoriassa avattiin jokainen vaihe ja tutkimusosiossa vaiheet hyödynnettiin käytännössä.
Työn toiminnallisessa osuudessa tehtiin puolistrukturoidut teemahaastattelut muutamalle valitulle henkilölle kahdesta eri henkilöstöryhmästä. Näiden haastatteluiden perusteella määriteltiin käsiteltävät ongelmat, analysoitiin ongelmien juurisyitä ja pohdittiin kehitysideoita. Lopuksi kehitettiin ideoita prosessien hallintaan jatkossa, jotta prosessia pystytään parantamaan ja estämään samojen ongelmien esiintyminen.
Tutkimuksessa käytettiin kvalitatiivista tutkimusmenetelmää ja tässä työkaluna toimi teemahaastattelut. Lisäksi osa työstä pohjaa tekijän omaan kokemukseen ja havainnointiin. The topic of the thesis was to investigate the container and terminal processes of a port operator and the problem points found in them in relation to the operational control system. Based on the survey, development ideas were created for developing the port operator's processes and improving the process turnaround time.
In the theoretical part of the study, port operations, the definition of the operational control system, the definition of the process was opened, and what process management is considered. In addition, Lean and Six Sigma development models were opened in the theoretical part, because the DMAIC tool of Six Sigma was used in the research part of the work. In the theory of the DMAIC tool, each step was opened, and in the research section, the steps were utilized in practice.
In the functional part of the work, semi-structured theme interviews were conducted with a few selected people from two different personnel groups. Based on these interviews, the problems to be dealt with were defined, the root causes of the problems were analyzed, and development ideas were considered. Finally, ideas were developed for managing the processes in the future, so that the process can be improved and prevent the same problems from occurring.
The research used a qualitative research method and thematic interviews served as a tool here. In addition, part of the work is based on the author's own experience and observation.
