Within the EU, the transportation has contributed to 14% of the global greenhouse gas emissions as of 2010. The EU has come forth with environmental targets to tackle emissions, an example of such emissions would be CO2 emissions. By doing so, it would slow down the global warming progress. These sort of objectives make companies to come up with their own strategies and goals that they would like to reach to tackle their carbon footprint. This study is a documentary research on 6 companies which are as followed; DB Schenker, Posti, Matkahuolto, Budbee, DHL and DSV. The majority of the companies have targets alike, which is by reducing their carbon footprint and majority there majority are involved in the Science Based Targets where they would like to become carbon neutral by the year 2040. The aim of the study is to map out what the companies are doing currently and their future plans on tackling their emissions. A thematic analysis of their reports are done to understand and conclude what they are doing to reach their targets. The results do show that the companies have a targets set that they are willing to reach and are aiming to do so.
