Tiivistelmä
This thesis investigates and analyzes the feasibility and potential of establishing an anime-themed café in Helsinki. The purpose of the study is to assess the viability of this business idea and create business plan based on Business Model Canvas. The objectives of the thesis project include conducting theoretical research, investigating the demand among potential customers, and developing a comprehensive business plan.
The development tasks of this thesis involve conducting a thorough literature review to establish a solid theoretical knowledge base on the brand-building process, visual planning, and constructing a business plan. Additionally, primary data for research is collected through surveys and interviews to gather insights from potential customers and entrepreneurs in the anime community. The methods used include quantitative analysis of survey data, qualitative analysis of interview responses, and a planning tool (Business Model Canvas) for developing the business plan.
The main results of the project highlight the strong market demand and potential profitability of an anime-themed café in Helsinki. The analysis of the survey data reveals a significant interest and willingness among anime enthusiasts to visit such a café, driven by the desire for a unique and immersive dining experience. However, the data extracted from the interview showed that many obstacles make this business idea unstable within the existing conditions of the process of establishing a business in Finland.
The conclusions drawn from the research indicate that this business idea has potential and can be implemented with the right strategies. Some of the alternative forms discussed in the thesis's conclusion are pop-up establishments and online selling. Such forms can be more profitable than opening a physical point due to Finland's high costs of operating a business.
Based on the findings, the recommendations include developing partnerships with local anime events and leveraging social media platforms for marketing and community engagement to enhance the overall customer experience. Furthermore, the importance of creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, personalized customer interactions, and ongoing customer relationship management is emphasized.
In conclusion, this thesis provides valuable insights into the establishment of an anime-themed café in Helsinki. The conclusions and recommendations offer practical guidance for establishing a business based on the knowledge of existing anime cafes and theoretical research.
