Communication is the most basic task of human being. Moreover, business organizations, where a group of peoples work together and they need to have good co-ordination to do daily operations successfully. People working for a business organization have to share information, ideas and planning with each other to run the organization in correct order. To share these things effective communication plays a vital role. Communication that simplifies the message transmitting process in business organizations is called business communication.
This thesis presents the general idea of business communication and tries to provide the picture of how an effective business communication looks like? This thesis carries three main sections. First, business communication theory, where channels, formats and use of business communication are presented. Second, a case study evaluating practical experience of business communication in Finnish retail chain "PRISMA" is presented. Third, evaluation for case study is done according to the outcome of the study and a conclusion of the whole thesis is provided at the end.
