Ionic Liquid is a quiet new category in chemistry. Ionic liquids can be defined as salts which compose cation and antion, usually is liquid in room temperature or near room temperature. The history of Ionic Liquids is very short, only has about 200 years. Therefore, there are many new fields of ionic liquids to discover.
The purpose of my thesis essay is to briefly introduce the history, classification, characteristics, synthesis, and applications of ionic liquids. Reader is able to realize generally ionic liquids through this thesis essay. The applications of ionic liquids is most important part in this thesis essay because it is the topic of this thesis essay.
