The purpose of this research type thesis was to find ways how to progress sustainability in the mountain tourism sector in Nepal. The report was mainly targeted to point out the level of understanding and knowledge to respect mountain environment and local cultures and find the right ways to raise awareness to the people.
The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on sustainable mountain tourism development on the basis of economic, environmental, and socio-cultural considerations. The empirical part of this thesis is based on practice-based research in which writer had made research through the internets, eBooks and articles in order to create the guidebook. Giving education, providing enough knowledge about how to preserve the natural beauty of mountains without disturbing the flora and fauna, and mountain cultures is important which is mainly focused in the report. The writer in this report tried to find the solution how sustainability can be maintained by introducing a "Green Guidebook".
The result of this study was that there has already been lot of sustainable development. There have been many programs conducted by the different organizations in order to collect the garbage from the mountains, making people well educated about the terms and conditions that should be followed while travelling, doing plantation in the areas where deforestation has done to prevent the mountains Sustainable travelling need to have support from the government levels as well as the local levels.
