Crime is one of the factors that affect each and every company. In tourism industry criminality is one of the major factors that is affecting Crime has very big role for the image of the destination. The phenomenon of tourism criminality imposes greater risks for tourism industry and the destination image.
Research method was focused in theme interview and all the interviews were done face to face. A theme interview was chosen in this research. It is one of the semi structured interview methods. A set of questionnaire were set to take interview. An interview was taken with 20 tourists who travelled in Kathmandu. Among them 15 respondents were intemational travelers and 5 were domestic travelers.
This thesis was focused with a case study of tourism crime in the Kathmandu Valley. It has been always a challenge to run tourism industry until the travelers feels safe to visit. Therefore the aim of the thesis was to develop the awareness to the tourists and how to be safe from the different types of crime. The whole research was about the negative impact of tourism crime in the Kathmandu Valley and its affect on the image of destination. This thesis also recommended some plans and policies for the development of the tourism industry in the Kathmandu Valley. From the results crime in the Kathmandu Valley was relatively low and a safe destination to travel. Minor criminality is also increasing day by day.
