The aim of this thesis is to explore different kinds of networks and security in a home network specifically. Knowing what kind of network we want to build or we already have is halfway of selecting the security type. As the network topology determines the selection of the type of the network, this thesis will discuss in detail about the types of network and their use on network topologies.
Securing the computer as well as the network protects our data and other personal files from being damaged by harmful hackers. Hackers might have different interests and through time they are becoming more systematic and able to penetrate the technology of securing our networks.
However different software products and spywares for preventing, detecting and removing computer viruses have been growing with the technology. This thesis will discuss about the security products and their benefits.
