Tiivistelmä
On 25th of May 2010, the Swedish telecommunication operator TeliaSonera was the first in the world to run a 4G wireless network commercial based on L TE standards with manufacturer Ericsson Corporation.
In recent 25 years, wireless communication industry has grown rapidly, from analog to digital, with development to 3rd and 4th Generation. A variety of wireless communication technology has been widely disposed around the world.
Companies including Datang, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, and ZTE designed the TD-SCOMA for 3G cellular system standards. Later this specification was extended and evolved into TD-LTE / TD-LTE-Advanced, and included into UMTS LTE standards. The evolution L TE-Advanced had been preferred as one in two final decisions of IMT-A next generation (4G) telecommunication technology standards.
Recent development history and characteristics of wireless communication technology have been described briefly in this paper. The thesis also includes analyses of the development, features and technology specifications of TD-LTE and TD-LTE-Advanced system. The thesis focuses more on RAN technical details than on core networks.
