Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current vehicles' pollution production. The analysis is based on information concerning the construction of a car, the pollution that it emits and then multiplying it by the amount of cars in circulation. The analysis that is included in this thesis also contains information relating how many deaths that can be directly attributed to the environmental problems caused by pollution. Based on the data obtained, past solutions and their resultant effects will be looked at thoroughly to see if better short term solutions could be found and perhaps suggest some long term ones that might be necessary to implement or impose on the public.
This research starts by explaining basic definitions and information about the automobiles all around the world. Therefore, by reading this document the reader will understand the material and draw his own conclusions.
A specific attention will be put on China since its situation is important to be analyzed due to being one of the biggest markets for cars and growing very quickly. With such rapid changes, there are many operations that are needed since many older cars with past technologies are still on the roads and are polluting the environment through many ways.
The analysis made obvious that small changes concerning automobiles in big cities can bring huge improvements. Many restrictions can provide huge advantages with just a small financial investment. However, some of regulations may be for the long term but they are necessary to avoid future problems that might be harder to overcome.
