Esite sijoitettujen lasten vanhemmille

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön yhteistyökumppanina toimi Helsingin kaupungin alaisuudessa toimiva Teinilän lastenkoti. Opinnäytetyö oli luonteeltaan kehittämistyö, jonka tuotos oli esite Teinilän lastenkodin sijoitettujen lasten vanhemmille. Tavoitteena oli lisätä sijoitettujen lasten vanhempien tukemista ja osallisuutta sijoituksen aikana, erityisesti sijoituksen alussa. Opinnäytetyössä kartoitettiin sijoitettujen lasten vanhempien ajatuksia ja näkemyksiä sijoituksesta, jonka pohjalta rakennettiin esitteen sijoitettujen lasten vanhemmille. Tarkoituksena oli saada vanhempien ääni kuuluviin, jotta esitteen sisältö vastaisi vanhempien tarpeita ja täten palvelisi vanhempia sijoituksen alussa uudenlaisessa elämäntilanteessa.

Esitteen aineistonkeruumenetelmäksi valikoitui tutkimuksellinen menetelmä, joka oli sähköinen kysely. Sähköinen kysely toteutettiin Google Forms -kyselylomakkeella, jonka avulla kerättiin sijoitettujen lasten vanhempien näkemyksiä ja ajatuksia sijoituksesta. Kysely lähetettiin Teinilän lastenkodin vanhemmille ja VOIKUKKIA-vertaistukiryhmässä oleville tai olleille vanhemmille, joiden vastausten pohjalta koottiin esitteen sisältö. Opinnäytetyön tietoperustassa perehdyttiin vanhemmuuteen sekä siihen, kuinka sijoitus vaikuttaa vanhemmuuteen. Lisäksi tietoperusta rakentui lastensuojelua käsittelevään teoriatietoon sekä lastensuojelua ohjaavaan lakiin.

Esitteeseen tuli tietoa esimerkiksi Teinilän lastenkodin työntekijöistä ja säännöistä, kuten lastensuojelulain mukaisista rajoitustoimenpiteistä sekä siitä, kuinka vanhemmalla on oikeus edelleen olla osallisena lapsensa elämässä. Esitteen tarkoituksena on antaa tukea ja tietoa ja täten lisätä vanhempien osallisuutta sijoituksen aikana, erityisesti sijoituksen alussa.

The partner of the thesis was Teinilä Children's Home, which operates under the City of Helsinki. The thesis was a development project, the output of which was a brochure for parents of children placed in the Teinilä Children's Home. The aim was to increase the support and involvement of parents of placed children during the placement, especially at the beginning of the placement. In the thesis, the parents' thoughts and views on placement were surveyed, based on which a brochure for parents of placed children was constructed. The aim was to make the parents' voices heard so that the content of the brochure would meet their needs and thus serve them at the beginning of placement in a new life situation.

The data collection method chosen for the brochure was a survey method, which was an electronic questionnaire. The electronic survey was conducted using a Google Forms questionnaire to collect the views and thoughts of parents of children in placement. The questionnaire was sent to the parents of the Teinilä Children's Home and to the parents who are or have been in the VOIKUKKIA peer support group, whose responses were used to compile the content of the brochure. The theoretical basis of the thesis dealt with parenting and how parenting is affected by placement. In addition, the theoretical basis was built on theoretical information on child protection and the law governing child protection.

The brochure included information about the staff and rules of the Teinilä Children's Home, such as the restrictive measures under the Child Protection Act and how parents have the right to remain involved in their child's life. The brochure aims to provide support and information and thus increase parental involvement during the placement, especially at the beginning of the placement.
