Cryptocurrencies risk management (ISO 31000) in SME companies : Case study: QL Protection Oy

Abstract

This topic is relevant for many companies due to the cryptocurrencies are attractive, highly profitable investments, despite the high risks level. Currently, the cryptocurrency market is changing rapidly: technical aspects and areas of regulation and legislation are improving. The thesis discusses the arising threats, challenges and risks connecting with cryptocurrencies in a Finnish SME company on the cryptocurrencies market. The framework from the ISO 31000 standard is used for description risks. The external risk sources are reviewed such as the description of a blockchain structure and the cryptocurrencies, including coins and tokens, regulators, and current legislation in the cryptocurrency market. The issues of applying strategies operating in the securities markets are considered.
