The aim of the thesis was to investigate the feasibility of establishing a sustainable farm business in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The thesis aimed to identify the key factors that contribute to the success of sustainable farm businesses in Dhaka, emphasizing economic viability, environmental effect, and social responsibility, and to provide practical insights for poultry farming to support sustainable farming practices by analyzing the specific context of Dhaka.
The knowledge base of the thesis was founded on a review of current theories in sustainable agriculture, business management, and environmental studies. To understand the current state of farming practices, economic conditions, and environmental impact, intensive interviews with local customers, suppliers, farmers, and experts, and data analysis were used.
The research showed that there is an increasing demand for poultry products in Dhaka, Bangladesh. However, poultry farmers confronted a number of obstacles, such as labor shortages, fluctuating feed prices, disease outbreaks, and limited market access. The study also discovered a need for sustainable agricultural practices in poultry farming.
