Itsenäistyvän jälkihuollon nuoren opas

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa itsenäistyvän jälkihuollon nuoren opas työvälineeksi työelämäkumppanille ja itsenäistyville nuorille. Oppaan tavoitteena oli antaa ammatilliselle perhekodille valmiuksia tukea itsenäistyvää nuorta ja tuoda tietoa eri aiheista itsenäistyvälle nuorelle kootusti. Tavoitteena oli myös opinnäytetyön tekijän ammatillisuuden kehittäminen sekä oppaan hyödyntäminen omassa työssä. Opinnäytetyön toteutettiin toiminnallisena opinnäytetyönä, jonka toimeksiantajana oli Perhekoti Valkosiipi Oy. Toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö koostui teoriaosuudesta ja kehittämisprosessista. Opinnäytetyötä varten haastateltiin ammatillisen perhekodin yrittäjiä ja vastauksien oli tarkoitus antaa suuntaa oppaan toteutukselle, mutta teoreettinen tausta toimii oppaan pohjana. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa avattiin lastensuojelun, jälkihuollon ja itsenäistymisen käsitteitä.

Nuori tarvitsee aikuisen huolenpitoa ja tukea varttuessaan aikuiseksi. Usein tämä tuki löytyy perheestä. Mutta nuorella, joka siirtyy aikuisuuteen lastensuojelun kautta, ei usein ole turvallisia ja luotettavia aikuissuhteita omassa perheessä. Tämän vuoksi tämän opinnäytetyön tuotoksena oli opas, joka jää työelämäkumppanille työvälineeksi jälkihuollon toteuttamiselle. Oppaassa käsiteltiin muun muassa talouden hallintaa, asunnon hankintaa, asumisen perusasioita ja ajanhallintaa. Näiden lisäksi oppaassa käsiteltiin lyhyesti terveydenhuoltoa, ajokortin hankkimista, työnhakua ja velkaantumista. Oppaan viimeiseen osuuteen kerättiin puhelinnumeroita ja internetsivuja, joista saattaa löytää apua hätätilanteiden ja elämän kriisien varalle. Oppaaseen koottiin asiat tiiviisti, mutta nuoren on helppo qr-koodien kautta löytää lisätietoja.

The purpose of this thesis was to create a guide for a professional foster home and for young people becoming independent. The aim of the guide was to provide skills to support a young person who is becoming independent and to give information about different topics to a young person becoming independent from a foster home. The aim was also to develop the thesis writer’s professionalism and to utilize the guide in her own work. The thesis was implemented as a functional thesis, commissioned by foster home Valkosiipi. The functional thesis consisted of a theoretical framework and a development task. Entrepreneurs of the professional foster home were interviewed for the thesis and the answers were meant to give direction to the implementation of the guide. However, the theoretical framework serves as the foundation for the guide. The concepts of child welfare, after-care and becoming independent were clarified in the theoretical framework.

A young person needs an adult’s care and support when growing up. Often this support is found in the family. However, a young person becoming independent from foster care often doesn’t have safe and reliable adult relationships in their own family. For this purpose, a guide was created as a product of this thesis, which will remain in the professional foster home as a tool for after-care. The guide covered managing finances, finding an apartment, the basics of living and time management. In addition to these, the guide briefly discussed health care, driver’s license, job search and debt. The final part of the guide contained phone numbers and websites that might be helpful to young people in case of emergencies and life crises. The topics are summarized in the guide, but it’s easy for a young person to find more information through the QR codes as well.
