Perehdytysopas Päijät-Hämeen hyvinvointialueen keuhkosairauksien vuodeosastolle

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on edistää ja tukea Päijät-Hämeen Keskussairaalan keuhkosairauksien osaston hoitohenkilökunnan osaamista ja työturvallisuutta. Lisäksi tavoitteena on edistää osaston hoidon laatua sekä potilasturvallisuutta. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa kirjallinen perehdytysopas keuhko-osaston uusille työntekijöille perehdytyksen tueksi sekä kehittää ja tukea osaston perehdytystä. Perehdytysopas on toteutettu yhteistyössä keuhko-osaston henkilökunnan kanssa.

Opinnäytetyön menetelmänä oli toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö ja tuotoksena perehdytysopas. Opas laadittiin tutkitun tiedon sekä keuhkosairauksien osaston henkilökunnan toiveiden pohjalta. Opas sisältää tietoa osaston käytännöistä ja siinä on eriteltynä työnkuvat ja tehtävät, osaston arvot ja säännöt ja osastolla tehtävät toimenpiteet. Keräsimme palautetta valmiista oppaasta osaston henkilökunnalta palautekyselyn avulla. Lopullinen valmis perehdytysopas lähetettiin osastolle käyttöön. Lopuksi teimme kirjallisen raportin koko prosessista.

Perehdyttämisellä tarkoitetaan työntekijän suunnitelmallista opastusta työpaikkaansa, sen tapoihin, henkilöstöön, työn sisältöön ja siihen liittyviin odotuksiin. Perehdytyksen tavoitteena on työturvallisuuden, - ja työhyvinvoinnin sekä potilasturvallisuuden edistäminen. Perehdytysopas toteutettiin sähköisenä ja se voidaan tulostaa uusille työntekijöille. Uusi työntekijä voi pitää opasta mukana vuoron aikana ja perehdytysopas toimii välineenä laadukkaassa perehdytyksessä ja perehtymisessä niin potilaiden hoitoon kuin osaston toimintaan liittyen.

The main aim of this thesis is to promote and support the education and work-safety of the Pulmonology nursing staff at the the Päijät-Häme central hospital. Additional aims include improvements in the quality of care and subsequent improved patient safety.

Practically the thesis fulfils this goal by producing a written oritentation guide for new employees which can be used as a guide to facilitate the orientation. This orientation guide is executed in co-operation with the current employees of the pulmonology department.

The thesis utilised a practice-based methodology in producing the orientation guide.

The orientation guide was originally drafted based research-literature, and with the consideration of the needs expressed by pulmonary nursing staff. The guide contains information about the department's practices and details the job descriptions and tasks, the department's values and rules, and the procedures performed in the department. The draft was modified based on feedback collected from the feedback questionnaire, filled in by pulmonary nursing staff. The finalised orientation guide was forwarded to the Pulmonary department at Päijät-Häme for use. A written review of the production process forms the final part of the thesis.

'Orientation' refers to the systematic pre-planned guidance provided to new employees, regarding the workplace, its staff, job description and the expectations that come with it. The goal of the orientation is to promote job-safety, employee well-being and patient safety. The orientation guide was stored digitally, so a printed copy can be provided to new employees. The new employee can hold on to the guide throughout their shift, thus having access to another tool that helps facilitate high-quality job-orientation, including information regarding patientcare and everyday departmental activity.
