Municipal solid waste (MSW) is also called urban solid waste, which is a kind of wastes provided by services for daily life activities. Its growing speed rises rapidly associated with the residents' lives.
The city is not only an important consumer of natural resources, but also a major producer of pollution and wastes. Municipal Solid Waste will cause serious pollution on the atmosphere, soil, and water environment, if it cannot be treated well.
The main aim of this research was to study the methods of waste disposal in China with focus on the analysis of developing trends. The characteristics of municipal solid waste and existing issues in management, the development trend are proposed of China's urban municipal solid waste and corresponding management strategies.
