Tiivistelmä
As our communities and ways of living change, so does the importance of places like local restaurants, which do more than just serve food—they help shape our cultural identity. In Finland, independent full-service restaurants are trying to thrive while also maintaining their unique roles in their communities. This study looks into how these restaurants can succeed by matching their everyday practices with the changing expectations and economic goals of the society around them.
The thesis "Investigating Internal Success Factors for Independent Full-Service Restaurants in Finland" delves into the principal internal elements that contribute to the success of independent full-service restaurants in Finland. Through qualitative research, including semi-structured interviews with five independent full-service restaurant owners in Finland, this study pinpoints key operational, managerial, and strategic factors that distinguish successful operations. The empirical findings reveal that product and service quality, employee engagement, effective teamwork management, customer relationship management, and the personal goals and philosophies of restaurant owners are critical to success. This research aims to deepen understanding within the Finnish restaurant sector, offering insights for restaurateurs to enhance their success rates and establishing a framework for future research on restaurant success criteria. This work enriches both academic literature and practical knowledge in the hospitality management field.
