Online food delivery services on the restaurant industry in Bangladesh : a study on Foodpanda

Restaurant business is one of the most competitive businesses in Bangladesh. After the introduction of online food delivery in this industry, it has become more competitive. Foodpanda is one of the leading online food ordering and delivery companies in Bangladesh. The main goal of this thesis was to ex amine how customers perceive and use online food delivery services, as well as how this influences their restaurant preferences. As Foodpanda is leading this sector, The impact of Foodpanda on the food customers of Bangladesh's restaurants was also examined in this study.
A detailed analysis across multiple facets, including global trends in this sector, rise of this sector in Bangladesh, some key players in this sector, and consumer perceptions, was done in this study. A structured survey was conducted amongst the customers who use Foodpanda as their online food de livery service provider on regularly.
The study revealed some valuable insights about the customer perceptions on Foodpanda as well as other online food delivery services in the restaurant industry of Bangladesh. Foodpanda had impacted on the customers dining habits and the choice of restaurants. Even new restaurants in the market are making more sales by partnering with Foodpanda. The factors that influence customers in choosing restaurants and online food delivery services were analyzed in this study. These insights can guide the policy makers of Foodpanda to set their strategy and keep the business updated to current customer demands.
