Technology is changing the healthcare system by providing innovative technologies that are improving the healthcare system therefore improving the wellbeing of patients and nurses. Homecare services have helped people to live in the comfort of their homes while getting treatment for their health conditions.
The authors aimed to explore nurse's experiences regarding remote monitoring devices used in home care. The purpose was to promote and improve the use of remote monitoring devices in home care. This thesis has exploited the use of remote monitoring devices in home care and highlighted their benefits to clients and nurses.
The author’s choice of topic was useful to the commissioning partner. Interviews were conducted with five nurses working with the commissioning partner. The authors have used a qualitative research method to collect data. The method was applied to transcribe the themes. The main themes: safety and workload were established after analyzing and coding the collected data.
The research explained how the devices have promoted safety and reduced workload for nurses. Nurses expressed their experiences on how remote monitoring devices have impacted their daily work both positively and negatively.
