The thesis explored organizational structure and career development The aim of the thesis therefore was to examine the concepts and possible relationship between the form of organization structure and the level of career development. The study was conducted to investigate the impact of organizational structure on employee career development.
In this study classical organization theories by Henri Fayol and Max Weber, the immaturity-maturity theory of Chris Argyris, the system theory, the contingency theory, and the new learning organization theory were discussed briefly. Interviews were used to gather primary data for this thesis. Information obtained for the thesis was therefore developed through qualitative research. In addition, the secondary sources used were books, journals, e-books, websites, and online material. Nigerian Breweries PLC was highlighted as the commissioning for this study.
The results of the research data revealed a significant relationship between the organization's design and the career development of its employees.
