Lapsi keskiössä - kohti yhteistä päämäärää : yhteisövaikuttavuus osana varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomin erityisosaamista

Abstract

Uusi päivitetty varhaiskasvatuslaki astui voimaan vuonna 2018, ja se sisältää määräyksiä muun muassa varhaiskasvatuksen henkilömitoituksesta, varhaiskasvatussuunnitelmasta ja perheen osallisuudesta. Lain päämääränä oli selkeyttää varhaiskasvatuksessa työskentelevien ammattiryhmien tehtäviä ja edistää heidän koulutuksensa hyödyntämistä. Varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomin rooli ja tehtävät ovat vasta muovautumassa, mikä aiheuttaa epäselvyyttä eri kunnissa. Sosionomi tuo varhaiskasvatukseen sosiaalista asiantuntijuutta ja yhteiskunnallista ymmärrystä, mikä on tärkeää perheiden haasteiden ja tarpeiden tunnistamisessa, sekä tukemisessa. Yhteistyössä perheiden kanssa sosionomi voi ennakoida avun tarpeen ja tarjota tukea varhaisessa vaiheessa.

Yhteisövaikuttavuus on uusi käsite varhaiskasvatuksessa. Se voi auttaa vastaamaan kasvaviin haasteisiin perheiden ongelmissa ja eri toimijoiden välisessä yhteistyössä. Yhteisövaikuttavuutta on käsitelty vähän julkisessa keskustelussa ja tieteellistä kirjallisuutta aiheesta on niukasti saatavilla. Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena on syventää ymmärrystä varhaiskasvatuksen sosionomin työnkuvasta yhteisövaikuttavuuden näkökulmasta. Olemme valinneet dokumenttianalyysin opinnäytetyömme metodiksi, koska se mahdollistaa erilaisten aineistojen kokonaisvaltaisen tarkastelun. Olemme hyödyntäneet blogikirjoituksia, artikkeleita, podcast-jaksoa, työnkuvan määrittelyä ja työpaikkailmoituksia.

Dokumenttianalyysi ja sisällönanalyysi ovat olleet keskeisiä työkaluja tutkimuksessamme. Sen avulla olemme pyrkineet jäsentämään aineiston tiiviisti säilyttäen kuitenkin sen keskeisen sisällön. Olemme myös rakentaneet teemakortiston, joka auttaa hahmottamaan ydinkäsitteitä ja mahdollistaa vertailujen, pelkistysten, tulkintojen ja johtopäätösten tekemisen.

Yhteisövaikuttavuus ja varhaiskasvatus nivoutuvat tutkimuksessamme yhteen sosiaalipedagogiikan, asiantuntijuuden, hyvinvoinnin edistämisen, palvelukenttä- ja yhteistyöosaamisen kautta. Tärkeimmäksi nousee oikein kohdennettu tuki lapsen arjen ympäristöissä.

The new early childhood education law came into force in 2018. The law included provisions regarding for example the staff-to-child ratio in early childhood education, the early childhood education plan and family involvement. The aim of the law was to clarify the tasks of the professional groups working in early childhood education and care and to promote the utilization of their education.

The role and tasks of a Bachelor of Social Services in early childhood education and care are still evolving and causing confusion in different municipalities. A Bachelor of Social Services brings social expertise and societal understanding to early childhood education and care. It is important in identifying and supporting families' challenges and needs. Trough collaborating with families a Bachelor of Social Services can anticipate the need for help and offer support at an early stage.

As a new concept in Early childhood education and care, collective impact can help to address the growing challenges in family issues and collaboration among different actors. The concept of collective impact is not well known and there is only limited scientific literature available on the topic.

Our thesis aims to deepen the understanding of the role of a Bachelor of Social Services in early childhood education and care from the perspective of collective impact. We have chosen document analysis as the research method for our thesis, allowing us to comprehensively examine various materials. We have utilized blog posts, articles, podcast episodes, job descriptions, job advertisements and content analysis, which has been a key tool in our research to structure the material while maintaining its central content. We have also created a thematic framework to help understand core concepts and facilitate comparisons, summaries, interpretations, and conclusions.

Collective impact and early childhood education and care are intertwined in our research through social pedagogy and expertise, well-being promotion, service field and interaction skills. The most important aspect is support in the child’s everyday environments.
