The purpose of the study was to provide understanding on best practises on international hiring for a Finnish IT company. The study was focusing on essential information on the topic and therefore lowering the step to start hiring international talents.
The study attempted to answer the questions: “How should a Finnish IT company start recruiting international talent?” and “What kind of support and resources there is for a Finnish IT company in international recruitment?”
The theoretical basis was formed by knowledge base consisting of talent acquisition terminology and talent acquisition theory. A semi-structured research interview was chosen as the best method to gather empirical and topical insight on the companies working with international hiring.
The results provide insights on best practises on international hiring for the target group, and on the support and resources available. As part of the research results, it was identified that there is challenge on companies not being aware or understanding the wide variety of resources and support available for them. As a result, easily accessible PDF guide on international hiring was created. The guide can be found in the appendices of this thesis.
