Tiivistelmä
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has disrupted global trade dynamics, particularly affecting Finnish supply chains and companies such as ISKU. This dissertation examines changes in the trade situation under conflict conditions, with a particular focus on the role of CIS countries in Finnish supply chains. Drawing on qualitative and quantitative research methods, the study examines the impact of conflict on supply chain transparency, logistics operations and export patterns. Through a detailed analysis of ISKU's experience and the broader supply chain management context, the study identifies challenges and opportunities arising from conflict. Key findings include increased export volumes to CIS countries, changes in delivery times and shipping costs, and the need for adaptive supply chain strategies. The study contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field of supply chain management by shedding light on the complexities of navigating geopolitical tensions and the resilience strategies adopted by companies in response to changing trade dynamics. By understanding the changing role of CIS countries in Finnish supply chains under conflict conditions, this study offers valuable insights for practitioners, policy makers and all supply chain stakeholders seeking to improve supply chain resilience and reduce risk in fragile environments.
