Tiivistelmä
Today, China is generally defined as the "world's factory". It is possible to combine local manufacturing skills with foreign technology and create good quality products at prices that are unfeasible m western countries. Hence, it is an extraordinary attractive opportunity for many Finnish enterprises, especially small size ones. However, for people who do not know China and its culture, doing business there can seem terrifying.
This thesis aims to provide a guideline for Finnish small size enterprises (SSEs) which want to learn about China and its business practices. For those planning to import goods from the Chinese market, the study then details some of the frameworks for strategy making and relationship building used by Chinese and go on to describe some of the strategies and methods which may be used when doing business in China. Besides, this thesis also provides the important links and suggests what the Finnish SSEs need to take into account before establishing business and building relationships.
The approach of this study will be practical. The focus is only on facts and possible problems the SSEs may confront in practice, especially on the import side. The main material was mostly gathered from the articles and the discussions on the community of the website www.alibaba.com.
