Charcoal barbecue / fire pit : bellgrill

Abstract

The charcoal barbecue/fire pit was designed with the aim of combining grilling, frying, and smoking features into one movable and lightweight unit. Its round shape promotes friends/family gatherings, while its disassemblable structure allows for easy storage dur-ing winter. The need for equipment for different cooking methods, such as open fire smoke, grilling, and frying, inspired the design to consolidate these functionalities. Addi-tionally, the safety concerns associated with traditional open fire grilling, especially in natural settings, drove the development of a safer alternative.

The design process involved thorough research into the requirements of each cooking method and the integration of appropriate features into the fire pit/barbecue. Key findings indicate that consolidating multiple cooking functionalities into one unit simplifies outdoor cooking experiences and promotes safety, especially in natural settings. The versatile nature of the firepit/barbecue enhances its usability for different cooking preferences and occasions. Furthermore, the lightweight and moveable design make it convenient for users to transport and set up the unit in various outdoor environments.
