Tiivistelmä
The thesis aims to develop a practical guidebook grounded in the theoretical frameworks of Piaget’s stages of cognitive development, Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, and early childhood education principles. These theories offer valuable insights into how children engage with music at different developmental stages, how they express themselves, regulate emotions, and show their social skills through different music activities.
The objective of the guidebook is to provide educators and caregivers with structured strategies for incorporating music into daily routines. It is designed for those interested in using music as a tool to promote children’s socio-emotional development and learning, making it a valuable resource for early childhood educators, caregivers, and parents alike.
The theories indicate that music substantially impacts the social, and emotional, development of young children. It can be concluded that music plays a significant role in promoting self-expression, emotional regulation, and social skills, thereby creating a practical guidebook that is meaningful to provide children with a positive and inclusive learning environment.
