Tiivistelmä
Introduction and purpose: Food is the basic protection of children's healthy and harmonious all-round development, and the food in day cares is also an important link in the daily routine activities.
Implementing food education for early childhood is not only conducive to the development of good eating habits, but also promotes the development of personality and multiple intelligences through food. The purpose of this research is to explore the impact of food education on children's social development. The research results will provide parents, educators, and policy makers with evidence-based practical information to better carry out food education and promote children's social development.
Materials and methods: A review of the literature available in the PubMed and CNKI database and books was conducted. The search was performed by using the following keywords: “Food education”, “children’s social development”, “childhood early education”. And it used a qualitative research method using a questionnaire with open-ended questions to collect information about children's eating habits and children's social and emotional development from day care educators and child guardians. Combined with a literature review, I will conduct an in-depth study of how children's early foodary environment affects the development of their social skills.
State of knowledge: According to the National core curriculum for ECEC (2022), cchildren need to develop cultural, interaction and self-expression competence (Harju-Laukkanen 2023). The development of children's comprehensive abilities is related to the development of social skills. The dining session is the most common and most frequent daily group activity in day care class groups. Children form positive dining habits with the help of adults, such as how to use tableware correctly. Although children usually only eat for about 30 minutes each time, it is an important group social activity for children.
Summary: By collecting and analyzing data, this study provided a reference for studying the connection between preschool children's food education and children's social development.
