Tiivistelmä
The prime objective of the thesis was to develop a product that aims at the endless issue of aging by approaching it with comfort and ergonomic solutions. Ageing is an inherent aspect of human existence that cannot be avoided and must be accepted. As we get older, we experience a decline in confidence, health, and stability, which causes us to develop a distaste for the precious gift of life.

In the present day, the market offers a wide range of ergonomic items, including canes, walkers, reclining chairs, grab bars, and more, which assist us in maintaining our independence and enhancing our sense of security. However, current products sometimes lack certain segments and may not be appropriate for everyone, particularly those over the age of 70. This topic was chosen considering these issues.

This thesis project's idea was to develop a conceptual idea for a cane with a simple, effective, and deeper ergonomic approach to increase confidence in older individuals, like my grandmother, who has significant difficulty walking, greatly impacting her well-being. This thesis is the outcome of a comprehensive process of ergonomic design, which includes research, interviews, analysis, drawings, and 3D modelling. This initiative is designed primarily for those who are old, aged 70 and over, and who need assistance in regaining their confidence and steadiness when walking.
