From idea to implementation : opening a family farm for luffa (Luffa cylindrica) cultivation in the territory of the Republic of Croatia

Abstract

Making thorough and organized business plans is one of the core competencies that entrepreneurs in the agriculture industry need to develop. Farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs should use a business plan as an operational tool. Every business decision in the intricate world of agriculture is guided by a well-designed plan, which acts as a roadmap in an environment of abundant challenges and constrained resources. A business plan gives smallholders with limited resources structure and helps with risk management, resource optimization, and task prioritization. This study "From Idea to Implementation: Establishing a Family Farm for Luffa (Luffa Cylindrica) Cultivation in the Territory of the Republic of Croatia" is a desk study aimed at the practical implementation of theoretical knowledge in the field of business planning in agricultural practice.

Combining theoretical foundations with practical application, the study aims to provide stakeholders in agriculture with the knowledge, tools, and resources necessary to translate entrepreneurial ideas into tangible outcomes in the agricultural sector of Croatia. The research and strategic planning are geared towards establishing and operating a family farm specializing in the cultivation of Luffa, thereby contributing to the financial goals of the entrepreneur as well as the economic development and environmental sustainability of rural communities in Croatia.
