Tiivistelmä
Tämä opinnäytetyö käsittelee hahmosuunnittelua 2D-animaatioon. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään, kuinka luodaan hahmo, joka tukee piirrosanimaatiota ja on visuaalisesti selkeä sekä katsojalle että animaattorille.
Työn teoriaosuudessa perehdytään hahmosuunnittelun perusteisiin animaatiossa, mikä tarjoaa lukijalle tarvittavan pohjatiedon tuotannollisen osuuden prosessista. Tuotannollisessa osuudessa käsitellään hahmosuunnittelun eri vaiheita pohjamateriaaliin perehtymisestä valmiiseen hahmosuunnitelmaan. Suunniteltavat hahmot perustuvat Reino Helismaan Päivänsäde ja Menninkäinen -kappaleeseen.
Työn tuotoksena luotiin kaksi hahmosuunnitelmaa, joita voidaan hyödyntää lyhytanimaatiotuotannossa. This thesis examines the character design process for 2D animation. The research investigates how to create a character that supports traditional animation and is visually clear for both the viewer and the animator.
The theoretical section of the work explores the fundamentals of character design for animation, providing the reader with the necessary background knowledge for the production section. The production section addresses the various stages of character design from studying the source material to the creation of a finalized character sheet. The characters being designed are based on Reino Helismaa's song Päivänsäde ja Menninkäinen.
As a result of this work, two character designs were created, which can be utilized in the production of an animated short film.
