This thesis explores how different project management methodologies affect team satisfaction and motivation, key factors influencing project success in contemporary organizations. In response to the increasing complexity of project environments, this research investigates how methodologies like Agile, Scrum and Waterfall impact team dynamics, autonomy and motivation.
Using a mixed-method approach, both quantitative and qualitative data were collected through surveys and analyzed to explore correlations between project management practices and team motivation. Findings reveal that methodologies emphasizing autonomy and regular feedback, such as Agile, encourage higher levels of satisfaction and motivation compared to more structured approaches.
In addition, thematic analysis of open-ended responses highlighted autonomy, recognition and communication as critical motivational drivers. This research suggests actionable strategies for project managers to improve team dynamics, including enhancing team autonomy, integrating regular feedback and adapting methodologies to fit team needs. By aligning project management practices with team motivators, organizations can potentially boost team engagement and project outcomes.
