The influence of media on children brings about both detrimental effects, impacting chidren in various ways as explored in the thesis.
The purpose of the thesis is to seek how digital platforms affect children’s lives positively and negatively. However, media gives teenagers to interact with individuals from cultures and backgrounds. Social media helps them feel accepted and provides a platform to showcase their creativity. It also aids in diverting their minds when they are stressed. The negative impacts of media on children include disturbances in sleep patterns. It can affect child performance. This leads to mental health challenges and privacy concerns. Therefore, the goal is to recognize both the bene and drawbacks of media on children aged between 5 to 19 years.
This thesis is a literature review. The data was acquired from authentic databases like PubMed, Google Scholar and EBSCO Academic Search Elite to find the articles related to the thesis topic. Many articles have been found based on the keyword survey on the databases.
Today, where social media is highly popular among the youth population, it is important to grasp the advantages and disadvantages that come with engaging in social media.
