Tiivistelmä
This research explores sustainable manufacturing strategies within three selected concerns of the Ha-Meem Group in Bangladesh: Next Collection Ltd., Nine Star Apparels Industries Ltd., and Apparels Gallery Ltd. Responding to this research problem, the study applies a qualitative research method: case study and thematic analysis to establish the various strategies adopted, the gaps in sustainability integration, and the recommended changes within these companies.
From the findings, it is clear that Nine Star Apparel is concerned with the welfare of its employees, and avails employee remuneration, medical benefits and safe working environment upgrades.
However, there is a need for improvement in mental health support services, and eco-sourcing activities. Next Collection did show some commitment to sustainability as did Apparels Gallery but there is still a long way to go. For the Next Collection, key recommendations include purchasing green infrastructure for industries and using biogas as well as solar systems. Apparels Gallery demonstrates improvement in the energy management markup. In contrast, the organization and some others do not conform to the carbon neutrality target because of the excessive usage of fossil energy resources.
The key findings highlighted also call for developing renewable energy and the promotion of relationships between government and industry. The pursuit of social sustainability remains a major emphasis. Recommendations made include the need for firms to increase training initiatives, launch complainants’ management systems and develop career management prospects. Management succession and job rotation programs are used as recommendations to enhance employee turnover and organizational commitment.
