Tiivistelmä
The thesis explores the development of the Next Generation Stadium Experience, focusing on integrating AR/VR technologies and 360-degree cameras at Nokia Arena. The project demonstrates how innovative applications utilizing 5G networks can redefine live event participation and accessibility.

The project development was conducted using a five-day Design Sprint workshop method. Each day of the workshop focused on a specific theme, progressively refining the concept. The process began with selecting an idea, which was then further developed throughout the week. The team’s objective was to provide immersive experience for both on-site and remote audiences and to position Nokia Arena as leader in technological advancements for stadiums.

The development task focused on creating a prototype AR/VR application designed to offer interactive features and enhanced user experience. The theoretical framework for the project was grounded in UX design principles, AR/VR accessibility standards, and the Media Richness Theory, ensuring a user-centric and accessible approach. This foundation was further supported by surveys and benchmarking, which provided valuable insights into user preferences and industry best practices, guiding the projects design and functionality.

The project delivered a functional prototype combining 360-degree cameras, AR/VR features, and 5G-powered mobile app. Survey feedback showed strong user interest and offered insights into future improvements. The solution enhances engagement and accessibility, positioning Nokia Arena as an industry innovator, with opportunities for expansion through AI-driven personalization and boarder accessibility features.
