Tiivistelmä
The study examined initiatives aimed at motivating students to pursue higher education by engaging them in practical, project-based experiences within a university setting. The focus was on students in the field of software development, addressing the gap between academic training and industry requirements.
A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, including case studies, surveys with students, faculty, and industry professionals, was employed. Activities such as seminars, participation in real-world projects, and mentoring sessions were implemented and analysed for their effectiveness.
The collaborative initiatives undertaken between LAB University of Applied Sciences and Salpaus Further Education have yielded demonstrable benefits for students aspiring to careers in the software industry. Such efforts lay a strong foundation for students’ professional development, equipping them with the competencies required to excel in the competitive job market.
