Tiivistelmä
The measurements and body proportions of the human body have changed over decades. As a result, the existing body measurement data has gone out of date and no more corresponds to the population’s average body proportions. In addition, the existing data is often internationally incomparable because of the various sizing systems used in different countries. Modern European sizing surveys aim at updating the existing body measurement data and collecting internationally comparable data from different European countries in order to harmonize the sizing systems. The development of 3D body scanning technology has made it possible to conduct large-scale sizing surveys in rather a short time and with reasonable costs.
SizeGERMANY can be regarded as one of the forerunners in European sizing surveys. In Germany, it is the first large-scale sizing survey utilizing the modern 3D body scanning technology. It is also the first sizing survey worldwide performing the scanning process according to the newest international standards.
