Trakeostomiakanyylista liman imeminen: opetusvideo sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijoille

Abstract

Trakeostomiakanyyli on henkitorviavanne, jolla pyritään pitämään hengitystiet auki. Trakeostomiakanyylin laitto on kirurginen toimenpide, jossa tehdään avanne henkitorven etuseinään. Sairaanhoitajan on osattava hoitaa potilaita, joilla on trakeostomiakanyyli, joten aihe on tärkeä. Opinnäytetyön tehtävänä oli tuottaa video perioperatiivisen hoitotyön kurssille. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli edistää sairaanhoitaja- ja terveydenhoitajaopiskelijoiden osaamista trakeostomian hoidosta, etenkin liman imemisestä. Opetusvideossa keskityttiin tuomaan esiin trakeostomiakanyylista liman imemisen toimenpiteen. Videolla on kerrottu, mitä tarvikkeita hoitotoimenpiteissä tarvitaan hoitajille sekä potilaalle, miten kasataan imulaitteisto ja miten suojataan potilas. Videolla on kuvattu itse toimenpide. Videolla on kerrottu myös, mitä on tärkeää muistaa toimenpiteessä. Opinnäytetyön tuotoksen arviointiin on tehty kysely. Opinnäytetyön kyselyssä kävi ilmi, että video oli hyödyllinen opiskelijoille ja jo ammattiin valmistuneille. Opinnäytetyö on hyödynnettävissä kaikille, jotka työskentelevät trakeostomoitujen potilaiden kanssa.

A tracheostomy tube is a stoma in the trachea that is used to keep the airways open. Inserting a tracheostomy tube is a surgical procedure in which a stoma is made in the front wall of the trachea. This topic is important, since nurses need to know how to care for patients with a tracheostomy tube. The objective of the thesis was to produce a video for a course in perioperative nursing. The aim of the thesis was to enhance the knowledge of nursing and public health nursing students on tracheostomy care, especially on the suctioning of mucus. The educational video focused on demonstrating the procedure of suctioning mucus from tracheostomy tube. The video demonstrates the procedure itself and explains what supplies are needed for both the nurse and the patient, how to set up the suction equipment and how to protect the patient. Furthermore, the video explains what is important to remember during the procedure. A survey was conducted to evaluate the output of the thesis. It revealed that the video was useful to nursing students and for those who have already graduated. The thesis is useful for anyone working with tracheostomized patients.
