International articles on family enterprises (FEs) make various discussions on how they can run successfully. The thesis first identifies the importance of family enterprises in economies by comparison among family enterprises globally and in China. Further research on the culture of family enterprises will be done both by means of theoretical analysis and by study the particular case which was able to survjve the recent competitive global market better than others. The typical case study was selected by author about the Fotile Kitchen Ware Co., Ltd. in Ningbo. It shortly illustrates the history of the company and mainly concentrates on the enterprise culture and strategic management.
Apart from family and business factors, the author listed some common disadvantages which may destroy the sustainable development and combine with the case study and other earlier experiences of international family enterprise researchers to give improvable suggestions for special Chinese family enterprises.
At the end of this thesis, it gives some proposals which are corresponded the features regarding sustainable development that can resilience of enterprises during the difficult time in particular and suggest other family enterprises in trouble draw some lessons from the experience of the selected case and examples that will be helpful in reforming and sustaining their own business.
