Tiivistelmä
The manufacturing industry has experienced significant evolution through four industrial revolutions, leading to the present era of Industry 4.0, which is defined by the incorporation of cutting edge digital technologies. This thesis explores the relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Sustainable Manufacturing. It aims to examine how AI driven technologies such as predictive maintenance, robotics, computer vision, and supply chain optimization are reshaping industrial operations to enhance efficiency and minimize environmental impact. A critical evaluation is carried out to understand AI’s contribution to environmentally friendly manufacturing, with a focus on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and intelligent systems that promote sustainable development. The research is grounded in a comprehensive review of existing literature and current industry practices. This study offers valuable insights into how emerging technologies can facilitate the shift toward more sustainable and resource-conscious industrial methods.
