Company X is a start-up studio that produces mycelium-based materials. The goal of this thesis was to develop a roadmap for achieving product-market fit for mycelium-based materials. The study aimed to examine both the internal and external forces that affect the case company to find the ideal way for the organisation to enter the market with its novel solutions.
The study employed a qualitative approach and encompassed both a theoretical framework and an empirical part. The theoretical chapters were built based on the literature related to the market analysis and product-market-fit development. The primary data was collected through a semi-structured interview. The development part includes PESTEL, Business Model Canvas, Sustainable Business Model framework, and SWOT analysis, which were conducted based on the interviews' and theoretical framework findings.
The study's outcome is a roadmap for achieving product-market fit for Company X's mycelium-based materials. The roadmap encompasses four main stages and tailored based on the case company’s vision, goals, and operational structure. However, further research is required to test the efficiency of the solution presented in this thesis.
