This thesis investigates sustainable procurement practices in the wind energy sector, focusing on the manufacturing industry in Vaasa, Finland. The study adopts a qualitative case study approach to explore how local companies implement sustainability in their procurement processes. Data was collected through interviews with industry professionals and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal both the opportunities and challenges faced by manufacturers in integrating environmental and social criteria into procurement decisions. The study concludes with recommendations for enhancing sustainable practices, including better supplier collaboration, clearer sustainability guidelines, and increased awareness within the supply chain.
