This study focused on job among non-managerial employees working in travel agencies in Nepal. Such roles often involve enormous amounts of work, little decision-making, and challenging situations with clients, which often cause high stress and lower employees’ ability to do their jobs well. Research based on discussions with five employees revealed the main stressors, their effects on job satisfaction and productivity, and how the staff cope with them.
To explain the results, the study relied on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, the Effort-Reward Imbalance (ERI) model, and other stress-performance theories. Using this approach, researchers found recurring themes in participants’ reports about stressors, how they coped, and what help the organization offered.
These findings revealed that suitable cultural workplace programs needed to manage job stress and improve employees’ well-being. Based on the findings, a practical guideline for managing stress was developed and included in the appendix. The report gives recommendations to improve stress levels and working environments in Nepalese travel agencies and focuses on creating well-being for employees.
