Tiivistelmä
Despite its significant contributions to economic growth and being the country’s export engine, Bangladesh’s garment industry has faced systemic issues of sustainable competitiveness. A milestone that triggered a change in the industry’s approach to sustainability was the 2013 Rana Plaza garment factory collapse, which killed over 1,100 and injured hundreds. This case helps to explore developments in Bangladesh’s sustainable competitiveness in international markets from political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal perspectives.
